I first clicked on the kindergarten standard as I thought that it would include multiple technology standards given it takes a lot to stimulate kindergarteners. To my surprise, there was only one standard listed in which it states "With guidance and support from adults, explore a variety of
digital tools to produce and publish writing, including in
combination with peers." What I gained from this is the idea it is critical for the little ones to learn how to read and write, especially approaching the end of the year, it becomes important for them to form sentences. The technology section implied the use of smartboards or online storybook creators such as "storyjumper". I believe with my given skills this standard is practical to include in my teaching environments given my main focus will be theatre therefore I should be able to explain to kindergartners how to create their own stories.
Further, as I dived into the CPALMS site, I was caught by surprise again. As stated previously, I aspire to become a theatre/drama teacher so I immediately went in to look for resources available for such. Theatre had 0 available resources and the rest of the performing/visual arts selections only had about 3-5 resources available. I went over to the visual art section and selected the balance and symmetry paper mask standard/resource. I remember doing the exact same project when I was younger which demonstrates how little has changed. The purpose is to teach balance, symmetry, and make students aware of 3-dimensional objects/shapes. I would use this when going over cultural uniqueness in my class as a starter project to start opening up the mind to the concept.
As a teacher, it is important to have good internet searching skills so we are providing credible information to our students when it comes to expanding their knowledge on given subjects. Students most of the time are referred to lookup certain items via the internet, therefore it is important for them to understand how to pull exactly what they need without all the extra fluff. Personally, a lot of times I am looking for a specific format such as a jpeg, png, or pdf, especially when it comes to articles or books therefore through my understanding I will begin using the skill of entering "filetype:" in google search bar to look for particular file types.
